[job_card.job_description]Surgical experience required. At least 50 clinical services, cases, or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months. Active CA medical license. Active CA DEA license. At least two years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty. Explanation required for any gaps in practice greater than three months. Case logs must be provided upon presentation for surgical specialties. Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. Approximately 14-week assignment. Guaranteed 8 hours per day. Overtime applies after 8 hours in a day. Strong clinical assessment and surgical patient evaluation skills. Excellent communication skills with patients, RNs, and medical directors. Ability to identify and escalate abnormal findings promptly. Proficiency in completing detailed consult documentation. Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple patient cases efficiently.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - General Surgery for our client in California!
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative consults on surgical patients, including risk assessments and information gathering.
- Conduct patient interviews and complete full consult notes for day-of-surgery cases.
- Report abnormal lab and test results to the medical director.
- Address patient concerns and answer questions from RNs in the clinic.
- Discuss any patient-related issues with the medical director.
- Alert the medical director to logistical concerns affecting patient care.
