Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery night shift position with advanced certifications and recent L&D experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a high-risk birth center within the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital
  • Cares for patients in a women's pavilion and OB emergency department with approximately 225 deliveries per month
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–7 : 30), with various days of the week required
  • On-call commitment of 24 hours per 6-week schedule
  • Minimum of six weekend shifts per schedule, subject to facility needs
  • Patient ratio is typically 1 : 2, with daily census averaging 6-10 deliveries
  • Floating required between Memorial North and Memorial Central birth centers as needed
  • Charting is done using Epic EMR
  • Responsibilities include advanced L&D nursing functions such as special vaginal exams, fetal scalp electrode placement, circulating in the OR, and medication administration
  • Navy scrubs are required for this position
  • No blocked scheduling requests are permitted
  • Up to 10 days of RTO are allowed per 13-week contract, with blackout dates around major holidays and facility-specific periods
  • Mandatory training modules are completed pre-start during orientation
  • Candidates living within 75 miles are considered local
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this assignment

    • Requirements

  • Active CO or compact RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years recent labor and delivery experience including SVE's, FSE's, OR circulator, and magnesium administration
  • Current certifications : BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or C-EFM, and FHM
  • Experience working in a birth center or high-risk OB environment
  • Must not be a first-time traveler
  • Must not have been employed by UCHealth or its affiliates within the past two years
  • Cannot return if completed a full year assignment without a one year break
