Systems Administrator

Day to Day :

Setting-up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and allocating mass storage space

Interacting with users and evaluating vendor products

Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinating installation, and providing backup recovery

Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources

Nice to Have :

Certifications in O365, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Professional Series

Experience with Microsoft Developer Studio 2015 / 2019 / 2022

Experience coding TSQL in a Microsoft SQL Server environment

Experience with Linux server administration

Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training

Must Haves :

Bachelors degree in computer science or management information systems (or equivalent work experience)

Public Trust security clearance required to start

Experience with the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization

Installation and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes

Installation of network devices and cabling

Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to resolution

Ability to determine and provide technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure

Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring timely resolution of all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems

Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance

Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
