Participation in hospital, Department of Pediatrics, and system committees. Faculty development (leadership, clinical, academic). Education – medical students, pediatric residents, and faculty. At 236 beds, Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital (LCH) is the largest children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high patient acuity as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 150 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. LCH has repeatedly been ranked among the Best Children’s Hospitals in the nation by US News & World Report, most recently in ten pediatric specialties for 2024-2025. Levine Children’s hosts a well-regarded Pediatric Residency Program and serves as a teaching hospital for students at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. In January 2023, Atrium Health broke ground on a second school of medicine campus- Wake Forest University School of Medicine Charlotte – currently under construction in the heart of a new, life-sciences research-driven innovation district, named “The Pearl”. The medical school will seat its first class in 2025.
Atrium Health Levine Children’s Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism Physician
Atrium Health Levine Children’s is seeking a full-time MD / DO to join their well-established and nationally recognized team. The Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism Division is a group of 5 physicians, 1 APP, 8 Genetic Counselors, 2 Metabolic Dietitians and a Metabolic Nurse.
Multidisciplinary care is provided for all genetic and metabolic conditions in pediatric and adult patients (except adult cancer). These include congenital anomalies, genetic syndromes, inherited genetic and metabolic disorders, lysosomal storage diseases, mitochondrial disorders, neuromuscular conditions, cardiac genetic syndromes, connective tissue disorders and inherited cancer syndromes affecting children.
Ideal candidates should have the following characteristics :
- BE / BC in Clinical Genetics and Genomics. Board certification and / or interest in Biochemical Genetics is preferred.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and research development.
- Demonstrated commitment to collegiality and the highest standards of professionalism.
