General Function

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting the overall strategic sourcing initiatives for New Products, Capacity Expansion, Can Line Integration, and existing Production Operations to ensure quality, cost, and delivery are met. The position will support Supplier selection, Supplier contract creation and negotiation, Supplier Management, and overall commodity management. The individual will support all new Supplier screening and required document management for new Suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Assist in development of sourcing strategies for assigned categories
2. Assist in the identification, selection, qualification, and onboarding of new suppliers
3. Monitor external factors that influence materials/services pricing and availability
4. Analyze Category Spend and identify opportunities
5. Deliver savings, process improvements and improved commercial terms
6. Ability to quickly analyze, validate, and manage large amounts of data, for problem solving, project and decision support, and trend analysis
7. Create RFQ packages and distribute to Suppliers
8. Act as escalation point for delivery and pricing issues
9. Complete vetting of all new Suppliers and ensure correct creation of Supplier within ERP and maintain document storage
10. Understand and use Inventory, Manufacturing, Engineering and Financial systems, within ERP
11. Support an environment that fosters teamwork, flexibility and change
12. Act as business liaison between Suppliers and Belvac
13. Assure Supplier visits and all associated contacts within the company, as related to the Purchasing function, are within the scope of professional business, and within the Belvac Ethics Policy, as defined

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical field; and a minimum of 3 years of purchasing and/or sourcing experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Technical ability to read drawings is required
• Prior Machining or Fabrication experience is preferred
• APICS or SCM Certification is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office required
