Pennsylvania Licensed Underwriter

A company is looking for an Underwriter - Medical Professional Liability.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate risk through the review of new and renewal business, determining risk acceptance, pricing terms, and conditions

Participate in committee and department meetings, preparing underwriting reports as requested by management

Work with internal sales and marketing to maintain insured relationships and identify business development opportunities

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

Bachelor's degree in risk management and insurance or another business field; or a minimum of eight years insurance experience in lieu of a degree

Minimum of two years of medical professional liability underwriting experience required

Completion or progress towards an insurance or professional liability designation (e.g., RPLU, CPCU, AINS) desired

Resident P&C insurance agent's license may be required (can be obtained within one year from employment start date)

Understanding of insurance and medical terminology, as well as insurance and underwriting principles required
