Job Summary
Primary Transportation Services Inc is seeking anexperienced Over-the-Road (OTR) Regional Truck Driverto serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. This position plays a vital role in transporting finished goods and raw materials across regional routes, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and frommanufacturing plants, retail locations, and distribution centers
- Safely operate and maintain aClass A commercial vehicle, adhering to DOT regulations
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimize efficiency
- Inspect vehicles formechanical items and safety issues, performing routine preventative maintenance
- Maneuver trucks intoloading and unloading positions, ensuring proper freight handling
- Collect and verifydelivery instructionsto ensure accurate shipments
- Document and logwork / rest periods, mileage, and fuel / toll receipts
- Input data into automated systems, includingmacros for loading / unloading stages
- Comply withtruck driving rules and company policies, including regulations on size, weight, parking, and break periods
- Reportdefects, accidents, or violationsin a timely manner
