Location : Muskegon, MI

Position Type : Locum Tenens Physician Psychiatry

Overview

Excellent locum opportunity for a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care in Muskegon, MI. The position offers weekday coverage with call responsibilities and the chance to work with a well-supported multidisciplinary team in an established psychiatric department.

Practice Highlights

Inpatient Psychiatric Department with 27 total beds

Average 12 patients per day

Work alongside 5 psychiatrists and 6 advanced practice providers

Provide supervision for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners

Referral sources primarily from Muskegon and Grand Rapids EDs

EMR : Epic

Safety and security measures in place, including staff duress system and 24 / 7 onsite security

No pediatric patients

Clinical Responsibilities

Manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including :

  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Affective Disorders
  • ADD / ADHD
  • Personality Disorders
  • Eating Disorders
  • Developmental Disorders
  • Psychotic Disorders
  • Organic Disorders

Provide care and interventions related to :

  • Involuntary commitments
  • Seclusion therapy
  • Pharmacotherapy
  • Group therapy
  • Restraint application

    • Candidate Requirements

    Board Certified in Psychiatry REQUIRED

    Active MI Medical License REQUIRED

    BLS certification REQUIRED

    Must be available to cover the full assignment dates (no exceptions)

    Schedule & Coverage

    Weekday coverage : 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM

    Call coverage : 5 : 00 PM 8 : 00 AM , unrestricted if able

    Coverage Dates : August 26 September 19

    Estimated credentialing timeframe : 3 months (expedited need)

    Compensation & Benefits
