Description :

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities.

The RN also plays a crucial role in the prevention of illness and injury.

Alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses is part of the RN's responsibilities.

Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is vital.

The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development.

Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.

The RN serves as the primary nurse or accountable nurse as designated.

Patient and family education in health promotion and disease management is essential.

The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications.

Shared responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization is expected.

Compliance with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is mandatory.

Participation in the Nursing Shared Governance Model is encouraged.

Professional development and completion of mandatory education requirements are required.

The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.

Providing a supportive learning environment for new employees and students is important.

Duties may include those related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

The RN may assume additional responsibilities as needed.

BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)

Preferred Certifications & Licensure :

Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is preferred.
