Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager for our non-profit client. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial operations and compliance with accounting policies. You'll oversee billing, collections, and revenue recognition, while also performing advanced accounting functions. Collaborating with program management and maintaining strong relationships with funding agencies will be essential. Additionally, you'll supervise a team of non-exempt accounting staff. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $50 to $52 per hour.

Job Description :

Provide daily supervision to accounts receivable staff, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Collaborate with program management to understand budget variances and prepare budget modifications.

Assist in financial reporting, supporting the annual budget process and year-end audit.

Oversee grant billing and collections to maintain Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) below 60 days.

Requirements :

Proficient in governmental and fund accounting.

Knowledgeable about generally accepted accounting principles and practices.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to meet deadlines, self-motivated, and accountable.

Effective leadership and staff supervision.

High ethical standards and confidentiality.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

Experience :

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education / experience.

At least five years of relevant accounting experience, including two years of staff supervision.

Experience with Intacct or other middle-market accounting systems.
