POSITION SUMMARY

Produces ultrasonic images and participates in special studies under the clinical direction of a Radiologist or Physician. Evaluates quality of ultrasonic images. Provides a safe patient environment. Participates in other necessary activities in support of departmental operations.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE :

Minimum Required :

Graduation from a CAHEA (AMA) accredited radiography program, or its ultrasound equivalent.

Current registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) with up to date continuing education credits, or ARRT with equivalent training or experience.

BCLS certified; recertification required every two years.

Preferred :

Associate Degree in ultrasound technology or radiography, with prior experience as a medical sonographer.
