This exciting opportunity involves providing essential dental care to patients in long-term care facilities. As a Mobile Dental Assistant, you will support both patients and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality dental services are delivered. Key responsibilities include maintaining clinical records through electronic medical records (EMR) and ensuring the proper care and cleanliness of dental equipment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Be a supportive partner to the doctor during patient care with professionalism and kindness.
- Perform pretesting duties as needed.
- Maintain and update accurate clinical records using electronic medical records.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of medical equipment.
- Handle the clean-up of service areas utilized at facilities.
- Assist with patient transportation, including helping patients in wheelchairs.
- Demonstrate exceptional multitasking abilities and attention to detail while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Have a strong understanding of dental and medical terminology.
- Create a welcoming and positive experience for every patient.
- Communicate efficiently with patients, family members, providers, and staff.
- Provide quick responses to patient inquiries and document all communications in the EMR.
- This role requires travel up to 100% of the time.
- Support and comply with the company’s compliance program, including training and reporting violations.
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA and PHI regulations.
- Update patient odontograms during each visit.
- Efficiently provide instruments to the dentist for care.
- Keep the treatment area clean and organized.
- Work closely with the branch office to manage the dental schedule and reporting.
- Balance and generate daily production reports for the dentist.
- Accurately post dental charges in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Inspect and maintain the mobile unit's interior and exterior.
- Manage dental supplies inventory efficiently, ensuring minimal waste.
- Ensure all dental equipment is properly maintained and functions according to manufacturer specifications.
- Educate patients on effective oral hygiene practices.
- Maintain a reliable internet connection for remote work and promptly report any service interruptions.
- Maintain a good standing driving record and valid insurance.
- Adapt positively to changes and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED.Experience as a Medical / Dental Assistant is preferred.Reliable transportation with a good driving record and car insurance is required.Must have completed a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.Hepatitis B and flu vaccinations are preferred.A state radiation license or certificate is necessary.Strong computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.Excellent communication abilities.Ability to follow instructions and be responsive to the needs of patients and doctors.Physical Requirements :
This role requires full mobility, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. You will be standing, walking, pushing, and stooping at various times. Lifting may be required (50 pounds or more in the dental specialty). Ability to push patients in a wheelchair is necessary. Candidates must have corrected vision and hearing in the normal range and be prepared to work in potentially stressful conditions or varying hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids may occur.
