Job Summary
The APP (Advanced Practice Provider) functioning within the cardiology ambulatory setting works in collaboration with and is an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team. This APP position will mainly support the Adult Congenital Program in the clinic and inpatient settings. This position will also work closely with the outpatient cardiology testing groups like ECHO and heart station. The APP is generally on a service aligned team and manages the care of the outpatient with the team. In some instances, the APP may have responsibilities for this same patient population in the consultative inpatient setting and serves as a resource for the inpatient care team. The APP has a strong foundation in evidence‑based practice and education and has a responsibility for ensuring an environment of safe quality care. The APP demonstrates an advanced level of medical and nursing knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.
