Job Summary

Lead the Water Resources Division within the Environmental Services Department, overseeing both the Municipal Water System (MWS) and South Bay Water Recycling (SBWR). This role ensures efficient operations, maintenance, regulatory compliance, engineering, and long-term planning for the city’s drinking and recycled water utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital improvement projects (CIP) and an operating budget exceeding $70 million.
  • Supervise a senior leadership team, including the Chief Water Operator, Principal Engineer, and Senior Environmental Program Manager.
  • Develop rate models, advance infrastructure projects, and collaborate with policymakers and external agencies.
  • Drive innovation and efficiency in water resource management while maintaining a strong customer‑service orientation.
  • Build consensus and foster collaboration across operational and maintenance teams.

    • Salary

    $161,513 - $260,737 per year (DOE / DOQ)
