The G100 the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit focuses on the treatment of complex patients suffering from GI Bleeds, Pancreatitis, Liver Failure, Multi-Organ Failure, Pre-Transplant, Crohn’s Disease, and Gastroparesis.  The dedicated caregivers on this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to adult patients. We adhere to a strict patient-to-staff ration never exceeding 6 patients per caregiver. G100 has a positive, team-oriented and supportive culture with daily 7am huddles for both the night shift and day shift to start / end their shift with an optimistic mindset. Experienced caregivers on G100 are eager to educate newer nurses. A caregiver in G100 can expect to gain a strong medical foundation with true medical / surgical nursing. During Rapid Responses on the unit, you will enhance your critical thinking skills, gain ultrasound experience, and collaborate closely with providers on liver cases. G100 is a great unit to pick up knowledge and grow as a nurse.

A PRN RN is required to work 48 hours (4 12-hour shifts) in a 6 week scheduling period.

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience.

Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post orientation / 90 day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements :

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and / or body fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Pay Range

Minimum hourly : $41.00

Maximum hourly : $41.00
