Maintenance Technician Weekend Position (FriSun)
12-Hour Shifts | Day Shift Available | Paid for 40 Hours (Work 36)
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support equipment and systems maintenance at our facility during weekend operations. This contract role offers long-term potential and requires strong technical capability, safety awareness, and teamwork. Candidates may select from two available 12-hour shifts with 1 opening per shift :
Technicians will work 36 hours per week and be paid for 40 hours .
Role Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient production. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, clear communication, and the ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in a fast-paced environment. Safety is the highest priority, and all work must be performed in compliance with established safety protocols and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across production equipment.Inspect and service A / C motors, gearboxes, presses, resistance welders, roll forming equipment, and related systems.Support changeovers on welders, mills, secondary punch machines, and the California rooftop press.Perform preventive maintenance and recommend enhancements to PM schedules.Replace worn parts, fluids, and components; test and adjust for proper functionality.Identify required spare parts and consumables.Technical & Operational Support
Provide daily updates to supervisors and maintenance leadership.Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and reports.Conduct regular inspections following SOPs and manuals; consult technical resources as needed.Monitor production-line efficiency and collaborate with operations to address issues quickly.Respond promptly to maintenance inquiries, line downtime, and equipment needs.Assist with basic HMI understanding for troubleshooting support.Operate material-handling equipment, including propane forklifts.Perform general building maintenance as assigned.Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
Maintain cleanliness of work area in accordance with 5S principles.Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on process enhancements.Assist in training other maintenance team members as needed.Demonstrate strong teamwork and willingness to support colleagues as required.Professional Qualifications
Experience repairing and maintaining manufacturing equipment.Hands-on experience with presses, mills, and welding repairs / adjustments.Understanding of single-phase and three-phase power requirements.Knowledge of machinery electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and troubleshooting methods.Basic PLC understanding (function and operation).Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.Proven strong attendance, punctuality, and accountability.Effective oral and written communication skills.Ability to read, write, and use computer systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and related software.Personal Attributes
