Position Overview
A Graduate Designer is responsible for supporting the design of building systems, preparing technical documents and providing day‑to‑day design support under direct supervision, with a heavy focus on learning and development.
Sector Focus
Venue Sector : Designing environments for large arenas, stadiums, airports and multi‑space venues.
Retail Sector : Projects for top retailers creating sustainable engineering solutions.
Health Sector : Design for patient safety and convenience in healthcare facilities and campuses.
Grocery & Distribution Sector : Design of grocery stores, food markets and convenience stores.
Community Sector : Building community spaces for gatherings and inspiration.
Business Sector : Adapting to evolving work and retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares design documents under the supervision of experienced engineering and design staff.
Supports review of shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
Assists with engineering calculations as directed.
May support business development or pursuit activities under direct supervision.
Participates in client, company and / or industry events occasionally.
Fosters a client‑centric mindset and approach.
Partners with experienced staff to understand client requirements and scope of work.
Acts as a liaison to inform engineering and design teams of client and architect questions and relays responses.
Acquires knowledge of industry software, including Revit, Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architecture) required.
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
Relevant internship experience preferred.
Exposure to engineering design fundamentals, codes, design guides and standards.
Familiarity with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred.
