Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA) Job Details

Location : Manchester, New Hampshire 03102

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (Travel Surgery Job)

Start Date : April 1, 2025

End Date : December 31, 2025

Duration : 36 weeks

Shifts : 7am – 5pm day shifts; 1 overnight call on weekdays; weekend call Friday 5pm to Monday 7am

Estimated Weekly Salary : $6,390 - $7,560

Clinical Setting : Operating Room (OR), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Hospital Bed Count : 330

EMR System : Meditech ecw

Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA) Qualifications

3-5 years of recent experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) in Cardiothoracic Surgery, including CVOR First Assist and vein harvesting

Expertise with Vasoview Hemopro 2 vein harvesting system

Current NCCPA certification and graduate of an accredited PA program

Active and unrestricted New Hampshire PA license (or eligibility)

Ability to provide clinical coverage in ICU, PCU, and OR settings

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical care as a locum tenens Physician Assistant (PA)

First assist in the CVOR and perform vein harvesting using Vasoview Hemopro 2

Participate in scheduled day shifts, overnight, and weekend call coverage

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including surgeons, fellow physician assistants, and nurse practitioners

Provide patient care in the ICU, PCU, and operating room environments

Accurately document all procedures and patient interactions in the EMR
