Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, lead production teams, and ensure the efficient execution of custom manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical expertise in plastics manufacturing with proven leadership capabilities and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Operations
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across multiple manufacturing processes including thermoforming, vacuum forming, die cutting, CNC routing, and plastic fabrication
- Plan and schedule production to meet customer requirements and delivery commitments
- Monitor production metrics and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies
Team Management & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop production team members including machine operators, production workers, and leadsConduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and identify training needsFoster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementManage staffing levels and coordinate shift coverage to maintain production schedulesTechnical Oversight & Problem Solving
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actionsDrive process improvements and lean manufacturing initiativesCollaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams on equipment optimizationReview and approve production documentation, work orders, and quality recordsSafety & Compliance
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all safety procedures are followedConduct safety training and lead incident investigations when necessaryEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standardsRequired Qualifications
Experience : 3-5+ years in production or manufacturing roles with 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead capacityTechnical Knowledge : Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, preferably in plastics, thermoforming, CNC machining, or die cuttingLeadership Skills : Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop production teamsSafety Focus : Strong understanding of manufacturing safety protocols and OSHA requirementsProblem Solving : Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement process improvementsCommunication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work cross-functionallyPreferred Qualifications
Previous experience in custom manufacturing or job shop environmentsBackground in plastics processing (thermoforming, vacuum forming, etc.)Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with production planning and scheduling systemsKnowledge of quality control procedures and inspection methodsWhat We Offer
