We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in hospice and palliative care to join a supportive healthcare team in the Midwest region. This part-time role focuses on delivering exceptional end-of-life care, prioritizing patient dignity, comfort, and quality of life within home or hospice settings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive assessments addressing patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Conduct initial physical evaluations and develop individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and manage symptoms following established protocols.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding end-of-life care options.
- Coordinate services and resources to assist patients and families throughout the hospice journey.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and communicate changes in condition to the interdisciplinary group.
- Perform venipuncture or collect lab specimens as ordered by physicians.
- Ensure timely communication with pharmacies and primary providers regarding medications and supplies.
Education and Licensure :
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current Registered Nurse licensure valid for practice in the relevant state.Completion of hospice and philosophy training is required.Experience and Certifications :
Previous experience in hospice, palliative, or critical care settings is preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with American Heart Association standards.Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.Skills and Requirements :
