We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Registered Nurse to provide exceptional end-of-life care within a supportive healthcare team. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care in home or hospice settings, prioritizing dignity, comfort, and quality of life for patients and their families across the Midwest region.
Education
Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current licensure as a Registered Nurse eligible to practice in the region are required.
Experience
Previous experience in hospice, palliative, or critical care is preferred. Familiarity with end-of-life care principles and philosophy training is essential.
Requirements
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association standards.
- Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.
- Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct comprehensive assessments addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.Administer medications and manage symptoms following established protocols.Provide education and emotional support to patients and families regarding end-of-life care options.Coordinate services and resources to support patients and families throughout the hospice journey.Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient status changes to the care team.Perform venipuncture or collect lab specimens as ordered.Ensure timely communication with pharmacies and healthcare providers regarding medications and supplies.This position offers a warm, empathetic environment where the individuality and preferences of each patient are respected and supported.
