The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Program Finance to lead a high-impact finance organization within a defense business area. This role is a trusted strategic partner to the Business Area General Manager , with direct responsibility for P&L performance, Earned Value execution, forecasting, and financial leadership across complex defense programs.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced defense Program Finance leader who enjoys combining hands-on financial rigor with people leadership , business partnership, and continuous improvement.
What Youll Own
Act as a financial partner to the GM , owning P&L performance including orders, sales, operating income, and free cash flow
Lead and develop a team of Program Financial Analysts , with a strong focus on onboarding, training, engagement, and performance
Ensure full compliance with ANSI / EIA-748 Earned Value Management standards for government / DCMA-reportable programs
Drive forecasting, risk management, and variance analysis , providing weekly and monthly insights to leadership
Prepare and present executive-level financial materials for AOP, JSP, MFRs, and investment decisions
Partner with Program Management, Operations, Engineering, and Proposal teams to support program execution and future growth
Define and track KPIs , drive process improvements, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
Support pricing, proposal reviews, and financial risk / opportunity assessments for new business
Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship (required)
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
(Masters degree a plus)
12+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education / experience)
Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
Deep expertise in Earned Value Management (ANSI / EIA-748)
Prior experience in defense industry program finance
Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and influence senior stakeholders
Preferred Experience
SAP experience
Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition
Advanced Excel modeling skills
Experience supporting proposal pricing and contract financials
