REQUIRED SKILLS: (Need Majority; 5+ Years)
- 5+ years in access control, surveillance, telecommunications, network infrastructure, life-safety, or building automation.
- Experience supporting, installing, and designing surveillance or access control systems.
- Proficiency in network cabling, structured wiring, and physical technology installations.
- Valid driver’s license and statewide travel capability.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in mechanical spaces.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Experience with state, local, or federally funded IT infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Avigilon, Exacq, Axis systems.
- Experience with Software House C•CURE 9000.
- Background in integrating facilities systems with IT network services.
- Experience with AV tech, conferencing solutions, and point-of-sale systems.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
The Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS), Bureau of Information Technology Services (BITS), is seeking a Surveillance & Access Control Technician III to lead the installation, configuration, testing, and management of security, life-safety, building automation, and network-related infrastructure projects.
This role supports modernization initiatives for WHS facilities statewide — including the headquarters, State Archives Preservation Facility, and 12 historic sites — requiring extensive travel and hands-on technical work.
