Responsibilities Position is in the Birthing Center of an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 13 L&D beds, 8 triage beds, and 17 postpartum beds Patient ratios are 1 : 1 for active labor, 1 : 3 for triage, and 1 : 6 for postpartum / mom-baby Seven or more births per day on average Night shifts, 12 hours (7p-7 : 30a), 36 hours per week Additional 24 hours of call within a 4 week period Weekend requirement includes 3 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per contract Floating to similar units required as needed EMR is Epic; prior Epic experience is required GE Corometrics fetal monitoring and Phillips telemetry equipment used Provide care for high-risk labor and antepartum patients Charge nurse / house supervisor and OB techs present on every shift OB / Neonatologist, IV team, RT, and pharmacy available 24 / 7 Scrub color is ceil blue and hospital issued Holiday shifts are assigned on a rotating basis per unit policy Floor-specific orientation provided at start of assignment Assignment is suitable for travel nurses only; no local travelers accepted Travelers may work a maximum of one year within the WVU system before a two-year break is required Requirements Active WV or compact RN license Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience Current certifications required : ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced / AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring Experience with Epic charting and IV placement required C-section experience not required Driver's license address must be at least 50 miles from facility Applicants previously employed at any WVU Medicine location must have a 2-year break before consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-634121.
