The posted pay scale represents the range the Company reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position. The actual wage for this position may depend on factors such as experience and education, specific skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, an applicable collective bargaining agreement, and Company business practices.
Sets up room, tray & back tables accurately. Cleans assigned areas following standard precautions. Assists with positioning of the pt in accordance with the surgeon’s instructions / using specialized equipment as needed. Provides the surgeon with appropriate visualization of the operative site using techniques & standards. Maintains accurate surgical instrument / needles / sponges counts following proper standards. .Anticipates the surgeon’s needs. Assists with putting sterile dressings on the patient. Prepares instruments for decontamination according to policy and procedures. Assists with pt transport to and from surgical suite. Ensures proper functioning of equipment before the start of a case. Reports non-functioning equipment immediately to the Dept. Director. Ensures all equipment is clean and sterile. Aware of out-dated supplies & handles them according to policy. Participates in PI activities as requested. Reviews PAR levels of specified supplies and orders supplies as needed. Respects the privacy of the patient & maintains confidentiality of all pt care info.
Qualifications : More than 5 years of surgical technologist experience in an acute hospital required. Scrub Tech diploma & BCLS Certified. Extensive surgical technologist experience with complicated spine and orthopedic procedures such as spine fusion, total replacement required. Ability to train, coach and mentor other surgical technologist is required.
