Responsibilities Position is based in an acute care hospital with a daily census of 50-70 patients Work primarily in inpatient settings, ranging from ICU to SNF / OP level cases Specialized procedures include FEES and MBS, with all SLPs required to complete MBS-IMP Epic EMR is used and experience with Epic is required Day shift schedule with five 8-hour shifts per week, typically 8 : 30am - 5 : 00pm Weekend shifts are required and there is no on-call or block scheduling No floating outside of the speech therapy unit; ICU rotation is not required but assessed for clinical readiness Clinicians must be willing to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed Scrub color is provided Responsible for providing evaluation and treatment for a broad range of patients including ICU level cases and those with post-acute needs Collaborate within a team of 5-6 SLPs on weekdays and 3-4 on weekends to deliver care Completion of mandatory pre-start and annual education modules is required Travelers may work for a maximum of one calendar year per assignment at this facility and must then take a six-month break before returning All travelers are expected to float to other affiliated facilities as operationally needed First-time travelers are welcome for this assignment Free parking is available on site Housing options in the area may be limited and should be considered ahead of time Requirements Current BLS certification is required Active or pending Alaska SLP license (license required if applicable) At least 1 year of SLP experience in an inpatient or acute care setting Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years in a comparable setting must be provided Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted Epic charting experience is required Vaccination with Hepatitis B is required; titers or declinations are not accepted Willingness to work two out of three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) Return staff must have been separated from facility employment for at least 3 months to be eligible Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-646532.
