Medical Assistant Baltimore, Maryland Pay From : $24 per hour MUST : Experienced Medical Assistant Dermatology Must have 5 plus years of experience a Medical Assistant Must have 2 plus years of recent experience working in a Dermatology medical office Must be certified as a Medical Assistant Must have a CPR certification Must have a background training and / or supervisory Must have EMR experience; Knowledge of working with EMA is preferred Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Scribing experience is highly preferred DUTIES : The Medical Assistant - Dermatology will be responsible for, but not limited to the following : Responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff with patient care. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Performs delegated medical tasks and may perform clerical duties. Gathers and documents brief history and chief complaint in the medical record. Follows established guidelines to obtain necessary testing based on the chief complaint prior to the exam. Prepares patient for examination by the health care provider. Performs routine office testing, including but not limited to; urinalysis, vision testing, hearing screening, pulmonary function testing, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Assists provider with procedures and minor surgical procedures. Obtains necessary blood and urine specimens. Administers and documents injections and other medications given. Assists provider with clarification of patient instruction such as, diagnostic test preparation, and medication administration. Exhibits compassion and empathy for all patients and families at all times. Sterilizes all reusable instruments and equipment as needed. Maintains necessary supplies in clinical area. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patients requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs. Provides the care needed as described in the unit / area / department policies and procedures. Utilizes appropriately and accurately the electronic system to perform required duties. Performs other duties as assigned
