An Addiction Medicine Clinic is in need of a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner for temporary coverage.

Job Location

The facility is situated 30 minutes from New Haven, CT.

Work Schedule Insight

Credentialing may take approximately two weeks and will include a physical examination, background check, and drug screening. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The role requires 24 / 7 phone call coverage, mainly for medication orders, approving new admissions, or addressing withdrawal complications. The typical caseload consists of 5-10 patients per day, focusing on adults aged 18 and older. Required certifications include a valid DEA registration, Connecticut license, and BLS and / or ACLS certification. You will collaborate with LPNs, nursing staff, and social workers to provide exceptional care. The ideal candidate should be experienced in handling patient intakes for active withdrawal, possess prior substance recovery expertise, and be well-versed in managing acute withdrawal syndromes (such as alcohol, opioid, benzodiazepine) while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care that emphasizes dignity and safety.
