Description
BOKA Restaurant Group, a James Beard Award–winning hospitality group, and Chef Brian Lockwood are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the opening team at Gingie, opening soon in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.
Pay Range
Base : $100,000.00 / yr - $120,000.00 / yr (actual pay based on skills and experience)

Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a dynamic leader with multi‑unit or fine dining management experience, a sharp business mind, and a true passion for hospitality. The General Manager will inspire and develop the team, drive financial performance, and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.
General Manager Responsibilities
Oversee staff education on service points, beverage appreciation, and overall product knowledge.Manage floor operations : touching tables, running food, overseeing staff, and monitoring the door.Open and close the restaurant, including preparing and reconciling closing banks, conducting pre‑shifts, writing daily recaps, and performing final walk‑throughs.Manage all employees : training, coaching, supporting, and disciplining.Participate in management meetings.Manage R&M through approved contractors.Control COGS, labor, and comps to budgets.Assist in execution of monthly inventory.Write schedules for Front of House staff while accounting for strengths, past business levels, special events, and labor budget.Qualifications
At least 3 years of recent GM experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.Knowledge of wine.Experience with Aloha and Opentable or similar POS programs.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Willingness to work extended hours and late nights.Knowledge of BOKA Restaurant Group & Chef Brian Lockwood.Polished, professional, warm and hospitable.Prepared to run all operations : hiring / training FOH staff, daily financial procedures, repairs / maintenance, guest relations, special events, preshift meetings, staff / management evaluations, cost and sales goal maintenance.Physical Requirements
Lift and move up to 10 lbs; frequently up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.Safely use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals.Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant (may include stairs, uneven, and / or slick surfaces).Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments.Please respond with a copy of your resume AND a cover letter detailing why you'd be a great addition to our team!
