Systems Engineer - Level 2

You will be the Systems Engineer for our Advanced Development Program (ADP), known as the historic Skunk Works, in Palmdale, CA. We are looking for world-class talent for this position to join the 75+ year tradition of creating advanced aircraft.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Systems Engineer you will be handling multiple and widely varying assignments and will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment exploring state-of-the-art technical solutions that will include Agile and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). You will have the ability to work independently as well as being a team player and willing to support other team members on a proactive basis in any capacity needed. You will engage professionally and effectively with senior management. You will successfully meet deadlines and execute to a strict timeline. Your responsibilities will include :

• Providing systems engineering support, to include but not limited to requirements tracking, risk management, architecture evaluation, and Airworthiness for an ADP program.
• Working across multiple disciplines, suppliers, and users to ensure all aspects of the project are covered with appropriate requirements, including conducting technical trade studies to determine requirements.
• Working with senior engineers to understand the overall program and engineering execution.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical STEM degree.

Experience with requirements tracking, risk management, or architecture evaluation

Desired Skills :

Experience utilizing tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, 3DX, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools

Ability to work with different engineering disciplines to derive and decompose requirements

Experience using software tools (such as MS Excel, JIRA and Access)

Past experience or coursework in systems engineering

Must be able to successfully meet deadlines and execute to a strict timeline.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Past Internship / Work Experience in a technically collaborative and team-based environment

Engineering analytical and problem solving skills

Security Clearance Statement : This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely : Onsite Full-time : The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position : 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $73,400 - $129,260. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees : accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate : The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $84,300 - $146,165. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
