Office Manager
The chief objective of this position is to provide administrative support to the faculty, staff and students in OES. This position schedules meetings, answers the multiple-line telephone system, greets and directs visitors, and copies and distributes materials as needed. This position also assists the OES Chair with tasks as assigned and assists the Chief Departmental Advisor (CDA) with undergraduate issues, and the Graduate Program Director (GPD) with graduate program processes. This position maintains the OES Facebook page, the OES web site and departmental file hosting applications (OneDrive). This position also posts and advertises departmental activities and special events as needed.
Considerable knowledge of effective customer service techniques. Considerable knowledge of PC-based software to include Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 platforms. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated data entry skills. Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments in a timely fashion while multi-tasking. Demonstrated ability to work independently and set priorities. Demonstrated ability to perform in a professional manner in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines when completing office tasks. Special licenses, registration or certification None Education or training None Level and type of experience Some experience as an Office Manager in a fast-paced office environment. Some experience using Adobe software, Microsoft Office Suite platforms, OneDrive, and Facebook. Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification) Working knowledge of information systems such as Banner, Chrome River or similar programs. Working knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures strongly preferred. Considerable experience as an Office Manager in a fast-paced office environment. Some experience updating web pages. Demonstrated experience in an academic environment.
Working hours are from 8 AM-5PM Monday through Friday. This position is not telework eligible. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
