Summary
The Waterjet / Laser Operator is primarily responsible for laser cutting to specified dimensions, while contributing to team efforts for operating in a safe environment for the timely delivery of quality parts by maximizing first run production of parts to router requirements.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Determines sequence of operations by studying the router, blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
- Loads the appropriate computer program to operate the laser for the part in process.
- Prepares machine for production by positioning parts on laser table with clamps or jigs.
- Regulates machines by setting and adjusting controls.
- Resolves production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications. Notifies supervisor for additional resources when necessary.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on a timely basis, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor of necessity of repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Contributes to continuous improvement process.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Knowledge : A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position as well as 1 to 3 years of Manufacturing Experience.Abilities : Manufacturing Quality, Controls and Instrumentation, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Decision Making, and basic reading and math skills (minimum of 8th grade level).Skills : Problem Solving, understands copy exact requirements, experience with OSHA compliance.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50lbs+Ability to bend and to stand or walk for long periods of time.
