Position Summary
Responsible for the assessment, treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the pulmonary system during the transport process, under the direction of the Manager of the Critical Care Transport Team, the Administrative Director and the Medical Director. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Contributes to the provision of quality care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.

Minimum Position Requirements
Work Experience :
- Three (3) years experience as a Registered Therapist in adult, pediatric and neonatal critical care respiratory care procedures required.
- Critical care transport experience preferred.
License / Registration / Certifications :
Texas Respiratory Care License.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.ACLS, PALS and / or APLS within 6 months of employmentNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and STABLE within 6 months of employmentTNCC required within one year of employmentRRT-NPS certification within 18 months of employmentEducation and Training :
Completion of a two (2) year CoARC approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree).Skills :
Comprehensive knowledge of routine and critical procedures with critical thinking skills for both neonatal and pediatric patients.Thorough knowledge of Respiratory physiology and ability to practice good judgment in the implementation of clinical interventions indicated by the patient status.Ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient problems.Demonstrated expertise in transport respiratory equipment and modalities, oxygen delivery capabilities of various transport vehicles, and respiratory management at high altitudes.Ability to foster and facilitate collaborative interpersonal relationships.Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.Ability to foster and implement team-building strategies.Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
