Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical / Telemetry assignment requiring a WV or compact RN license and strong med / surg-telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit (3rd floor) in a hospital setting
  • Care for a range of medical-surgical and telemetry patients
  • Typical patient ratios are 1 : 5 to 1 : 6, with fluctuation based on census
  • Requires use of the Meditech EMR system
  • Night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30
  • Bi-weekly orientation provided
  • Work schedule follows a 36 / 48 hour rotation per two-week pay period
  • No block scheduling available
  • Care for both medical-surgical and telemetry patients with variable acuity
  • Holiday coverage may be required depending on hospital needs
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Travel pairs are not permitted unless otherwise specified by unit needs
  • Bi-weekly orientation ensures incoming travelers are integrated smoothly

    • Requirements

  • Active WV or compact RN license required for consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent med / surg and telemetry nursing experience
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
