Administrative Assistant (Full-Time) - Home Medical Equipment

    • Role Summary & Responsibilities :

    This Administrative Assistant position oversees clerical activities and provides essential non-nursing administrative support for the Home Medical Equipment department. The role requires a highly organized, proactive individual with strong secretarial and communication skills who can serve as a key resource for the department manager.

    Primary Functions :

  • Administrative Oversight : Oversee clerical activities and assist with non-nursing administrative functions on the unit.
  • Liaison : Serve as a key contact and liaison for internal staff, external staff, and contractors regarding departmental activities.
  • Financial Support : Process purchase orders for the department and assist in preparing and monitoring the budget.
  • Workflow Management : Facilitate the flow of correspondence, maintain appropriate records, and manage departmental manuals.
  • Secretarial Duties : Perform secretarial functions including screening calls, typing, and filing.
  • Reporting : Gather data for statistical reports and attend departmental meetings, acting as the recorder for minutes.
  • Supervisory Assistance : Assist with supervision and education of secretarial staff.
  • Resource Management : Act on own initiative to prioritize workload and utilize thorough knowledge of the supervisor's areas of responsibility to serve as a resource for the department manager.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Education : High school graduate with at least one year of college or business school training in secretarial procedures.
  • Experience : Three to four years of working experience is required, with a preference for familiarity with hospital or health care procedures and a background in medical terminology.
  • Skills : Must have excellent secretarial skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be fluent in the English language.
