About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent who will also lead Safety and Training initiatives across active construction sites. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who understands field operations, has strong communication skills, and can ensure crews are trained, safe, and working efficiently.
You will support the Superintendent with day-to-day project coordination while also developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and employee training across a growing concrete construction operation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support / Assistant Superintendent Duties :
- Assist the Superintendent with daily jobsite operations, scheduling, and coordination of crews and subcontractors
- Monitor field activities to ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and quality standards
- Help manage materials, equipment, deliveries, and site logistics
- Conduct daily walk-throughs to identify issues, maintain productivity, and support project timelines
- Communicate project updates, issues, and progress to leadership
Safety & Training Responsibilities :
Lead all on-site safety efforts and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standardsConduct safety orientations for new hires and provide ongoing training for field employeesPerform regular jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessmentsInvestigate incidents, near-misses, and implement corrective actionsMaintain safety documentation, records, and reporting for internal and regulatory purposesDevelop and deliver training programs related to equipment use, concrete construction techniques, and best practicesPromote a proactive safety culture and serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related mattersQualifications :
3+ years in construction field operations, preferably in concrete or heavy civilExperience supporting site leadership or working in a foreman / assistant superintendent capacityKnowledge of OSHA standards, jobsite safety practices, and training proceduresStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to multitask and work hands-on in a fast-paced field environmentOSHA 30, CPR / First Aid, or safety certifications a plusCompany Description
