Structural / Civil Quality Control Specialist

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

We are seeking a Structural / Civil Quality Control Specialist to join our Virginia Operations Team. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring and supervising the joint-venture (JV) / sub-contractors' fabrication, construction, maintenance, and repair performances in the areas of structural and civil quality control, including evaluation of materials and procedures in accordance with applicable project specifications, RFP and contract documents. This is all to be done in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• A BA / BS degree in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, or related field is the minimum formal education required for this position. However, a combination of equivalent work experience (minimum of 10 years combined experience in respective civil / structural discipline) and training in the field may be qualifying.
• Ten or more years as a Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager for a civil or structural subcontractor or contractor required on similar size and type construction contracts.
• Specialty inspection training and licenses / certs highly desired.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Internet, etc.) required.
• CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications required. Training can be provided.
• Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management Certificate required. Training can be provided.
• Army Corps of Engineers EM385‐1‐1 40 Hour Safety preferred.
