This position is responsible for working as a team member under direct supervision of a Crew Leader or Foreman. The work varies each day, but can include: vegetation management, weed removal, installing and maintaining plants, and installing and repairing irrigation systems. This position is a temporary position with variable hours. Temporary employees are those employed for short-term assignments. Schedules will vary from week to week based on project requirements. Position is not eligible for company benefits except as required by applicable law.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with supervisor in installation of construction and landscape construction projects
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools
• Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles
• Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis
• Maintain a clean and safe job site
• Work as part of a team and take direction
• Follow all safety procedures on project site
• Always represent the company's best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity
• Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines
• Complete project daily reports if needed
• Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1 to 3 years' experience in landscape industry
• Valid driver's license with a clean DMV record
• Ability to travel out of town/overnight
• Highly motivated, self-driven, detail oriented
• Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours and weekends
• Punctual and dependable
• Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Direct experience in habitat restoration, including planting, invasive species removal, and ecosystem management
• Experience in the safe handling and application of pesticides, including compliance with local and federal regulations
• Comfort working in outdoor, variable conditions and performing physically demanding tasks
• Proven ability to work effectively in field teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders

Compensation: $20-$23 hourly* + *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.

Working Conditions Environment

• This job operates in an outdoor-based environment.
• Outdoor activity involves walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.
• This job requires project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• This job requires the following:
• Working on a computer, sitting, or standing for long periods of time in a field, office, or remote office setting.
• Employees must be capable of bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 35 lbs. unassisted; 50lbs in a team lift (two or more employees).
• Attending meetings, both in person and virtually, and speaking on the phone with peers, clients, etc.
• Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
