Tax & Bookkeeping Staff Accountant

We're looking for an experienced Tax & Bookkeeping Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience focused exclusively on tax preparation and bookkeeping. This role is a great fit for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys managing a diverse workload of client accounts, with a focus on accuracy and timely filing. You'll be the primary point of contact for many clients, handling their routine tax and bookkeeping needs.

Responsibilities :

Tax Preparation & Filing : Prepare and file a variety of tax returns, including 1040s, 1120s, 1120, 1065s, and 990s for both state and federal jurisdictions. This also includes preparing and filing Sales Tax and Franchise Tax returns.

Bookkeeping & Client Management : Maintain and reconcile client books using QuickBooks / Intuit. Ensure all client financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

Compliance Verification : For clients undergoing audits, you will be responsible for verifying that all required tax returns have been accurately and timely filed. This is an administrative task to ensure compliance, not a role in conducting the audit itself.

Documentation & Organization : Maintain a systematic log of all completed activities and filings within each client's digital folder on a monthly basis.

Working hours : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

Skills :

Technical Skills : Proficiency with PRO SERIES and QuickBooks / Intuit is essential.

Skills : Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.

Communication : Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.

Education : Bachelors

Experience : 1-4 years

Qualifications :

Education : A Bachelor of Science (BS) or similar 4-year degree is required. A CPA license is not required for this position.

Experience : 3+ years of direct experience in tax preparation and bookkeeping.
