Hourly Pay Range :

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights :

  • Position : Patient Care Technician - Ambulatory Surgery - Per Diem
  • Location : Elmhurst Hospital Day Surgery
  • Full Time / Part Time : Per Diem (as needed)
  • Hours : Must be able to work two of the following shifts : : 45a-2 : 15p or 8 : 00a-4 : 30p or 12 : 00p-8 : 30p or 2 : 00p-10 : 30p
  • Required Travel : no

What you will do :

The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN) and, according to established procedures, performs patient care tasks and patient care procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.

  • Cleans and prepares patient rooms for new patients
  • Assists in admitting patients to room, which includes vital signs, orienting patient to room
  • Restocks supplies
  • Assists in activities around discharging patients

    • What you will need :

  • Education : N / A
  • Certification : Current CPR Certification issues by either American Heart Associates or American Red Cross
  • Experience : Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training courseorminimum six monthsof previous patient care experienceorequivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation
  • Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, ability to prioritize, ability to receive and follow through on directions.
