Job Overview

Fairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist at Wyoming Lakes Hospital located in Wyoming, MN.

This is a casual / 0.01 FTE opening, meaning there are no guaranteed hours per pay period and this role is not eligible for benefits. Opportunities for weekday d / n / e shifts as well as weekend d / e / n based on availability. Call is optional.

As a Surgical Technologist, you'll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You'll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for :

Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items.

Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.

Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens.

Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments.

Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room in readiness of next patient.

Aligns with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures, and standards.

Cultivates a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.

Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment.

Modifying clinical interventions based on population served.

Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.

Anticipating the surgeon's needs.

Following appropriate action in emergency situations.

Required Qualifications

Military surgical assistant or

Surgical technologist training

Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc, Red Cross or MTN)

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

1- 3 years surgical experience
