Responsibilities Wellstone Regional Hospital is a -bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 3. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, and the CD population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone Regional Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Art/Recreational Therapist, part time,every Friday and Saturday, must be available on day shift.
The part-time Art/Rec Therapist is responsible for evaluating patient needs and formulating the initial and subsequent treatment programs in accordance with the attending physician's/licensed practitioner?s treatment orders. This position administers the treatment program to patients to achieve the greatest benefit and resolution of symptoms through established therapeutic procedures, providing a high level of quality patient care. Hours will be scheduled hours per week, Fridays and Saturdays. This position requires some holiday coverage. The chosen candidate would have the ability to perform group therapy with an inpatient mental health population with patient age ranging from 5 to . Other job duties will include patient assessment, documentation, maintenance of department areas and involvement in special event and holiday planning.
Qualifications Education: Recreational Therapist: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and eligible to sit for national exam conducted through the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Expressive Therapist: Minimum of a Master's Degree from an accredited university and working towards registration in art therapy. Other disciplines such as Music therapy, Horticulture therapy, Dance Therapy, etc: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and licensure, certification or registration in respective field.
Experience: A minimum of one year experience in a Mental Health/Psychiatric setting preferred. Additional Requirements: General knowledge of JCAHO standards, and state and federal regulatory standards. CPR & CPI certification required during facility orientation.
