Mainframe Engineer

Job Title :

• Mainframe Engineer Location : Riverdale, MD (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week) Duration : 3+ Years About the Role We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications for our client.
• The role requires strong COBOL and CICS programming skills, experience with JCL for batch job processing, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize mainframe code in a collaborative environment.   Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, TSO, and JCL .
• Write and maintain JCL scripts for batch job processing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mainframe application issues.
• Optimize and improve existing mainframe code for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions.
• Assist in testing, deployment, and ongoing support of mainframe systems.
• Handle additional related tasks as assigned.   Required Qualifications 5+ years hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, TSO, and JCL .
• Proven track record of mainframe application development and maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.   Preferred Qualifications Experience with CA-IDEAL and CA Datacomm .
• Previous work in a higher education or large enterprise environment.
