Position Summary
Are you an experienced CNC Programmer looking for an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills in laser cutting, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC press brake operations? Join our team to contribute your technical expertise in an office-based role where you'll focus on programming, optimization, technical support, and providing input for quoting and estimating.
In this dynamic position, you will collaborate closely with shop-floor operators, engineering teams, and estimating departments to ensure precision programming, efficiency in operations, and accurate quotes with realistic parameters. Your programming proficiency and hands-on manufacturing knowledge will be crucial in resolving production challenges as they arise, ultimately improving throughput, quality, cost accuracy, and machine utilization.

Key Responsibilities
Programming & Process Development
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting, CNC turret punch presses, and CNC press brakes.
- Develop nesting strategies that maximize material utilization and reduce scrap.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, bend sequences, and fixturing methods.
- Verify programs for accuracy, safety, and manufacturability before releasing them for production.
- Maintain organized program libraries and ensure revision control.

Quoting & Estimating Support
Assist in the fabrication quoting process by providing accurate feeds and speeds, estimated cycle times, tooling recommendations, and setup assumptions.Review customer prints and models to identify any production risks, special tooling requirements, or opportunities for efficiency before jobs are quoted.Work closely with the estimating and engineering teams to enhance quote accuracy and profitability.Provide design-for-manufacturing suggestions when applicable.________________________________________
Production Support & Troubleshooting
Offer technical support to machine operators during setup and production runs.Troubleshoot challenges related to part quality, tooling, programming errors, machine limitations, and material behavior.Seek opportunities to enhance cycle times and implement process improvements.________________________________________
Collaboration & Documentation
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to interpret drawings, tolerances, and specifications.Ensure that programs align with print requirements and adhere to customer quality standards.Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.________________________________________
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience (including laser, punch, and press brakes).Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.Expertise in GD&T and blueprint reading.Familiarity with tooling selection and bend allowances.Experience with CAD / CAM software (including Auto Desk, TruTops Boost, Amada, Solid Works, SigmaNEST, Mastercam, or equivalent).Capacity to troubleshoot mechanical, programming, and process-related issues.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with shop personnel and office staff.High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.________________________________________
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in supporting quoting, estimating, or costing within a fabrication environment.In-depth understanding of laser parameters, punch tooling libraries, and press brake offline programming.Leadership or mentoring experience with operators or junior programmers.Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.Experience with Lincoln Robotic welders (System 30 and System 10) and knowledge of spot welding and riveting processes.________________________________________
Work Environment
Primarily an office-based role with frequent interactions on the production floor.Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and material handling areas.Standard business hours with occasional overtime or production support as needed.________________________________________
