Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i's only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i's leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. Over 1,400 employees and more than 700 physicians provide specialty care at Kapi'olani. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women's Center and the Women's Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center. The Security team provides security, information, directions and escort service to patients and staff as needed, while adhering to policies and regulations regarding safety. As Security Officers patrol Hawai'i Pacific Health facilities, they are often the first to meet and greet our clients, which positions the community's experience at our facility in a positive way. The Security team plays a vital role in creating a sense of safety and security throughout our hospitals, which is important to our patients and their families. If you would like to help create a safe and comfortable environment for our patients, staff and guests at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children, you could be the ideal person for this position. Responsibilities include providing protection and security for facility personnel, patients, visitors, and property through security and safety patrols, crisis intervention, investigation into minor crimes and accidents, and serving as a visual deterrent to potential problem situations. You will participate in safety programs and provide support to all departments. We are looking for an individual who is dependable and observant, with excellent customer service skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School or equivalent.
• Current Hawaii Security Guard Registration (GDE) License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS card or Heartsaver-AED CPR card.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hospital security experience.
• Teamwork Awareness Prevention Course to attend within one (1) year of hire.
• International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Basic Healthcare Security Officer Training Certificate to be obtained within one year of hire.
• Six (6) months of security experience or experience in related field.
