TITLE : Senior Power Congestion Trader
About the Role :
This senior-level position is responsible for trading Point-to-Point (PTP) products in the ERCOT market and delivering high-level congestion analysis and forecasting to support daily operations for our client's generation fleet. You'll apply deep market expertise to optimize their portfolio, reduce costs for customers, and creatively solve complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities :
- Execute Day-Ahead Market (DAM) strategies by securing PTPs to manage congestion risk for their generation fleet.
- Provide daily operational planning support with real-time and day-ahead congestion insights.
- Participate in Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) auctions as needed, ensuring cost-effective acquisition.
- Monitor transmission congestion and forecast potential issues to maximize portfolio value.
- Support nodal market modeling by assisting with daily, weekly, and monthly ERCOT simulations to inform RT, DAM, CRR, and forward-market strategies.
- Offer strategic input on transmission improvement projects that enhance basis spreads between their generation and load.

Salary Range :
$139,000 - $210,000 base
