How you create impact. The National Payroll Specialist reports directly to the National Payroll Manager and maintains business continuity in the absence of the National Payroll Manager. The Payroll Specialist will provide input and support on team building, process improvements, system integrations / implementations, and document procedures for internal controls. The position will conduct internal audits periodically of various payroll areas and document recommendations for improvements and guidance. The Payroll Specialist is extremely detail-oriented, possesses strong leadership skills and significant knowledge of payroll administration including state and Federal regulations.

Responsibilities include :

• Ensure timely and precise processing of weekly and semi-monthly multi-state payrolls.
• Maintain adherence to federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations.
• Provide direction and support to HR teams and employees to resolve time reporting and pay issues.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure appropriate data workflow.
• Assist with preparing data for internal and external audit requests.
• Calculate and communicate salary overpayments and corrections effectively.
• Provide responsive support for payroll inquiries fostering trust and satisfaction among employees.
• Assist manager with preparation and facilitation of year-end activities between HRIS, HR, Benefits, and Payroll.
• Update employee records to provide for garnishments, tax levies, and child support orders, as well as tax adjustments.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
