Overview
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician II for a short-term project in Fresno, California. This role involves providing on-site technical support for network connectivity issues, including troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and cabling adjustments. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, familiarity with network equipment, and the ability to follow established procedures while delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Install, modify, and repair technical equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Conduct on-site testing of equipment to verify proper operation and resolve connectivity issues.
- Diagnose and address equipment start-up malfunctions, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain detailed daily logs and prepare reports on work performed and issues encountered.
- Follow established procedures, policies, and guidelines to complete assigned tasks effectively.
- Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and customers to exchange information and resolve technical challenges.
- Recognize and address deviations from standard practices in semi-routine assignments.
- Ensure all work assignments are completed accurately and within specified timelines.
- Present factual information to team members and customers during daily interactions.
Project Details
Scope : Network troubleshooting with internal SMEs via phone support.
Tasks :
Diagnose connectivity issues involving multiple carriers.
Work with modems, switches, routers, and software-defined routers (Silver Peak equipment; Cisco, Meraki, Arista experience also relevant).
Replace cabling and / or hardware as needed (equipment provided).
Tools Required : Basic tools (cable tester, multimeter), must bring a ladder.
Duration : 30–60 minutes of work; 4-hour guaranteed pay.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of related experience.General knowledge and hands-on experience with technical equipment and systems.Familiarity with network troubleshooting and hardware installation.Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions.Strong communication skills to interact with supervisors, peers, and customers.Willingness to adhere to company policies and industry standards.Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
