Position Summary:The Accounting Manager oversees daily accounting operations and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting. This role leads a small accounting team while partnering closely with plant leadership and finance stakeholders to support financial processes, reporting, and operational decision-making. The position is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, supporting the monthly close process, and driving continuous improvement in accounting procedures, systems, and compliance efforts within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a small accounting team through coaching, performance management, workload planning, and professional development
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and cost accounting
Prepare financial and managerial reports, highlighting key insights for leadership
Develop reports for the parent organization and regulatory agencies as required
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support annual financial planning and periodic forecasting
Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation and resolving audit findings
Maintain and strengthen internal controls while ensuring compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and corporate accounting standards
Perform cost accounting activities and analyze project profitability related to capital investments
Ensure accurate fixed asset tracking and proper depreciation practices
Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting through automation and system optimization
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field
5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of accounting processes and the relationship between the income statement and balance sheet
Knowledge of the business cycle and how operational activities impact financial results
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels
Advanced computer skills with the ability to build financial models for analysis and forecasting
Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel proficiency required
Familiarity with corporate reporting platforms is a plus
