Compensation : $55-$60 per hour based on experience.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Join our team as a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist, where you will provide essential treatments to patients by evaluating their functions and applying effective therapies to improve or restore communication abilities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to community education and guide students in their clinical training. Flexibility in coverage across multiple sites may be required.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION :
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association.
COMPETENCIES :
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.Basic computer skills with proficiency in Windows-based programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.Reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites is a must.ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :

Conduct thorough evaluations of patients based on departmental standards.Develop and adjust treatment plans by assessing symptoms, activity levels, and medical status.Utilize effective therapeutic techniques to treat patients and support their communication recovery.Administer recognized physical agents and manual therapies to accomplish patient goals.Implement strategies to normalize speech and language functions.Educate patients and families on home exercise programs to promote independence.Recognize when patients achieve treatment goals and make discharge recommendations as appropriate.Document patient progress in compliance with insurance guidelines and departmental policies.Foster communication with other departments and referring physicians regarding patient care.Ensure daily submission of accurate patient billing.Adhere to the ASHA professional code of ethics consistently.Utilize proper body mechanics and safety practices in all tasks to prevent injury.Supervise at least one student intern annually.Participate in continuing education to enhance treatment methodologies.Contribute to departmental and community education initiatives.
